It's been a few years since I added anything new to this little repository of family lore. A lot has happened; people have gone, and new people have arrived.
Of all the children and grandchildren my ancestors produced, I'm probably the least likely, and least qualified to write these stories. I'm a college dropout. I'm un-American by many standards because I embraced the theories of Karl Marx. I'm also an entrepreneur, self-employed for the last fifteen years, with no employees.
At nearly sixty years old, I'm now older than all my grandparents were when I was born in 1966; I'm beginning to gain a perspective on life that only arrives as we enter the waning acts of this thing we call living. I'll probably commit many errors along the way.
Last week, I began moving the collection of family memorabilia and relics to my new office, where I can more easily access them and begin cataloging and putting more pieces together. My goal is to leave behind a published book for my children, grandchildren, and others to know these people I knew, whose lives and actions contributed to my own existence and who I am.
The stories here are drafts, probably out of order and definitely incomplete, but it's a convenient medium in which to write.
